The project introduces entirely new monitoring techniques for Parthenio Park, bringing innovation to an area where these practices have not yet been applied. In addition, the approach of training people from outside the Park to enhance citizen science could generate significant impact by expanding community involvement and improving the quality of the data collected.

Goals
B.I.A.P. has two complementary tracks, combining field research and active community participation:
Stakeholders involved
The B.I.A.P. project involves a diverse network of stakeholders, each with a key role in land protection and enhancement. Private associations bring expertise and resources, while hiking associations become a direct bridge between monitoring and responsible enjoyment of the environment. Schools represent the educational heart of the project, training new generations in the knowledge and care of the territory. Finally, local governments provide institutional support and strategic vision, making effective and lasting collaboration possible.
Main expected results
Through the B.I.A.P project, the aim is to generate concrete and lasting results for the protection of the Parthenio Park. The first goal is the creation of a permanent monitoring network, capable of extending not only to the protected area (14,870 hectares) but also to the entire SAC, thus expanding the capacity for observation and intervention. In parallel, new technological protocols will be developed and tested, innovative tools designed to adapt to the Park’s characteristics and easily exportable elsewhere. Data collection will produce up-to-date information on biodiversity, made available through digital platforms accessible to all. Finally, the project aims to raise public awareness of the value of Parthenio’s natural resources, bringing citizens, students and visitors closer to the knowledge of a heritage that deserves to be understood and protected. |
Dissemination results
The dissemination and replicability of the results is one of the strengths of the project. On the educational and communication front, the training aimed at citizens and students will leave a lasting legacy: knowledge, awareness and sensitivity that will enter their cultural background and continue to support, over time, the protection of the area’s biodiversity. |
