Lagoon atlas: explore the complexity of the Venice lagoon

Addressing the environmental and spatial challenges of the Venice Lagoon requires tools capable of restoring its complexity.

The Lagoon Atlas is a project shared among numerous institutions and promoted by the City of Venice. Initiated to collect and make accessible environmental information on the Venice Lagoon, the drainage basin and the coastal area, the project has been transferred to a web portal that contains the online version of the Atlas-book.
Today, the Atlas is enhanced with a technologically updated version through which users can explore thematic layers such as Biology, Geology, Morphology, History and Human Environment and view maps, graphs and tables to understand the evolution of the land and make informed decisions.
I dati provengono dai portali CIGNo Atlante e CNR-ISMAR e sono accessibili tramite servizi cartografici standard (WMS e WFS).
