In Montalto di Castro (VT), a photovoltaic plant was designed and built to integrate renewable energy production with the protection of biodiversity, landscape and ecosystem services through co-design processes and the active involvement of local communities. The increasing deployment of ground-mounted PV systems is one of the key strategies for decarbonizing the energy system and transitioning to a more sustainable future. But, if not properly planned, these installations can generate significant environmental and social impacts.
Guidelines for planning and implementation of photovoltaic systems as NbS, have been drafted from this and other experiences and are one of the products of NBFC
