Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are interventions that use nature itself to address environmental and social challenges. Cited in the Global Biodiversity Framework, they include actions to conserve, manage or create ecosystems that can provide ecosystem services, such as carbon sequestration or urban climate regulation. NbS are applied in natural, rural and urban environments, and promote integrated solutions between biodiversity, human well-being and climate change adaptation.
