Mountain research with robot in backpack

Analyzing remote environments with “shoulder” technologies, with minimal impact on the ecosystem, is possible. This is the result of the sampling campaign, part of the MARMOT project, which involved testing the use of an innovative robot, easily transportable on mountain trails with a backpack, to acquire various chemical, physical and biological parameters of high mountain lakes. The latter, fragile and rapidly changing environments, are being studied worldwide as early indicators of climate change. Starting in summer 2025, robots will contribute to the systematic study of alpine lakes.
