The AirBID project aims to analyze air biodiversity and its link to urban green spaces and health. Trento is among five European cities involved in the project, funded by Biodiversa+ with the participation of the Edmund Mach Foundation, which will coordinate bioaerosol sampling in the cities. This is an important study because the air we breathe contains various biological particles (aerobiome) that affect health and well-being. Pollen, fungal spores, and bacteria in the air will be examined, analyzed using conventional light microscopy methods and DNA sequencing techniques.
